N’Golo Kante has told Chelsea’s board that he will not force a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer and will let the club decide his future, according to reports in France.

The 27-year-old has cemented his reputation as one of the world’s best defensive midfielders after his impressive performances at the heart of France’s midfield during the World Cup.

Kante, who was signed from Leicester City for £32 million two years ago, is now wanted by Paris Saint-Germain and the French champions have made him their priority target for the summer.

But according to Le10 Sport, the France international does not want to go against Chelsea and will let the club decide whether to accept an offer from PSG.

Chelsea, meanwhile, are ready to reject all bids from PSG and are working on a new contract for Kante and discussions are due to take place shortly.

Last week, reports claimed that Chelsea are willing to offer the midfielder a contract worth £200,000 a week, which would make him one of the best-paid players at the club.

Kante still has three years remaining on his current deal with Chelsea.

The midfielder has endeared himself to fans due to his modest celebrations following France’s victory at the World Cup.

Kante appeared reluctant to pose with the World Cup trophy in the immediate aftermath of the 4-2 win over Croatia on Sunday, while he has also looked embarrassed when his France teammates have serenaded him with his own personal song.
